My Act
I play instrumental covers of the most popular and recognizable songs in the world today. This includes music by 'old school' artists like Stevie Wonder and The Beatles as well as modern music stars like Drake, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande.
My setlist contains over 150 songs and I am constantly adding more to my repertoire!
Each song I play includes its original chords & melodies as well as my own creative twist & improvised solo. This means that any two renditions of the same song, though similar, never sound exactly the same.

Limiting my stage volume is very important to me.
My goal is to create an ambient atmosphere at a comfortable volume level, giving
audience members the option of either listening to me play or conversing with one another.
What is Live Looping?
Live looping gives musicians the ability to seamlessly record & playback music without the need for accompanying instruments. After recording an initial 'loop', musicians can add multiple layers to create increasingly complex pieces of music.
For my solo act, I use a live looping foot pedal at the start of each song to record bass, drums, & rhythm guitar. This creates a 'backing track' for me to play lead guitar on top of. During each song, I constantly add & remove certain elements of the backing track (such as drums or rhythm guitar) to control the song's overall energy and keep the listener engaged.

My Story
I fell in love with playing music at the age of 12. Inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and John Mayer, the first instrument I wanted to learn was the guitar. I began taking lessons and performing in front of any live audience that was patient enough to listen to me play (mostly at school talent shows and in my parents' living room).
At 15 years of age I began learning to play the drums. Throughout high school, I played both guitar and drums in several different bands spanning a wide range of genres (such as rock, jazz, blues, pop, and punk music). I started playing gigs at local bars, restaurants, and special events in & around my hometown. I distinctly remember looking around while on stage at my first bar gig ever, thinking "I have to figure out how I can do this more often".
At 18 I moved away from home to attend university. I suddenly had no bandmates to jam with, so most of my time playing music was spent alone in my dorm room. This was when I discovered 'live looping', which allowed me to play fully arranged songs by myself without the need for a band.
I spent the next few years create my solo live music act based around live-looping and instrumental guitar. My goal was to create an elegant performance style that was both entertaining and passive, giving audience members a choice between listening intently to my music or not. I tested and refined my act over a long period of time... first in front of friends and family, then at local restaurants, then eventually at various venues and private functions all over the Greater Toronto Area.
Today, I am a gigging musician in my late 20's with a long history of live music behind me and an even longer history that's still waiting to be written. I feel eternally grateful to have music as such an integral part of my life, both in terms of my livelihood and my mental health. It's something I definitely don't take for granted... and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon :)
